Knickerbocker Glory
Karolina Laskowska’s AW14 collection ‘Knickerbocker Glory’ pushes the theme of upcycling to a sophisticated and quirky new level. Upcycled kimono silks form the core of the collection, with the female body forming the perfect canvas for these delectable and intricate prints. Each garment is unique due to the limited nature of the silk, with many prints being limited to a couple of garments each.
‘Sayuri’ is the brand’s first underwired bra style, featuring signature strapping details that form an adjustable underband, giving a stylish new way to achieve the perfect fit. The look is finished with a dramatic 6-strap suspender and choice of cross-over brief or thong.
‘Ayame’ is a cupped corset that offers a striking contrast of sheer mesh with opaque kimono silk, finished with satin binding and bone casings. Cut with a ‘cupped’ rib shape to allow for a comfortable but dramatic reduction. This gorgeous show piece was created in collaboration with Ava Corsetry.
‘Ume’ is the high-waisted knicker style that was initially seen in our first lingerie collection, featuring impeccable detailing and showcasing these beautiful fabrics at their very best. Vintage glass pearl buttons and tiny satin loops form a gorgeous peephole effect down the side of the body, with a sheer mesh back giving a cheeky twist to this full-coverage style.
‘Mizuki’ pairs luxe printed silk with extravagant strapping detail across the décolletage, the perfect way to give your outerwear a directional lingerie twist.
The collection takes a darker twist with its use of lace. ‘Daniela’ is a deliciously unusual babydoll and knicker set, using an antique Victorian Chantilly lace alongside harness inspired detailing. This style is extremely limited edition due to the scarcity of the lace.
‘Irena’ uses vintage English leavers laces in an unusual cradleless bra shape, with satin elastic strapping wrapping around the body with bold gold hardware. A matching tanga brief or harness thong are available alongside, with option Swarovski crystal detailing.
